Accepting Applications for Lightning Speakers

Thanks to all those who submitted proposals for the general sessions. We have selected those speakers. We are still accepting applications for Lightning talks. To propose a lightning talk for consideration, fill out the Speaker Information Form. Please note most of the information below applies to full 45 minute talks. Lightning talks are short 5-minute talks.

Presenter Benefits

One complimentary conference registration will be given for each accepted full-length track presentation (lightning talks do not include registration). Additionally, a small stipend is available for tutorials. Track speakers also receive a steep discount on tutorials. (2008 was $75)

Important Application Information

Proposals are due by Thursday, August 5, 2009. We are looking for ideas, effective practices, lessons-learned, hard problems solved (or not!), new technology experience, spectacular failures, and challenges to conventional wisdom.

Presentation Format

GLSEC conference day track presentations are of the following format:

  • Track session: 45 minute sessions, including questions
  • Lightning talks: A 5-minute presentation
